Black Industrialist Scheme by EDC

 
The Black Industrialist Scheme (BIS) is an investment based, cash incentive, available to majority black owned manufacturing companies (both new and expanding).  The objective of the programme is to create 100 Black Industrialists.  Qualifying costs against which the benefits may be claimed include:

Capital Investment including:

  • New machinery and equipment
  • Improvements and additions to buildings
  • Commercial vehicles

Investment Support including:

  • Feasibility Studies
  • Post Investment Support

Business Development Services

Applications must be submitted in advance and be approved before the project may begin.  It should be noted that the DTI have indicated that the following Low Value Addition projects will no longer be supported:

  • Production of Asphalt
  • Production of ready mix concrete
  • Production of ice cream
  • Water Bottling
  • Quarrying and crushing
